12 Days in Uganda adventure

Day 1: Pick up from Kampala and transfer to Bwindi

You will be picked up by our guide from the airport/your hotel in Entebbe/Kampala, after an early morning breakfast at around 07:00hrs. You will be briefed about the whole safari before you travel to Bwindi Impenetrable which is found in the southwestern part of Uganda. Along the way there is a local drum and craft making community so you will have a visit here. Then a stopover at the Equator to take photos, also feel free to buy some crafts and souvenirs as you head to Mbarara town where you will have your lunch from. Thereafter, proceed to Bwindi whereby you will arrive in the late afternoon. Check in at the lodge, relax in the evening and have Dinner.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla trekking

Our 10 days of Adventure of Uganda cannot be completing without the renowned Gorilla trekking, in the morning after breakfast, you will gather at the park offices in the morning for briefing and gorilla group allocation. The park ranger will lead your group of about 8 into the forest tracking the mountain gorillas with his radio communication. Information about the gorilla location is provided by trackers who head into the forest way before your group starts on the journey. When the trackers find the location, they communicate with your ranger about the location and he takes you there, equipped with a machete to pave way through the thick Bwindi forest. Upon finding the gentle primates, you will spend a maximum for 1 hour in presence of these giants before trekking out of the forest. From there you will be back to the lodge for lunch and evening relax with Batwa cultural village, dance and tradirional songs.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for canoing and boat ride

In the morning after relaxed breakfast, you will enjoy cano ride to the lake bunyonyi the second deepest lake in Africa and one of the most beautiful places in western Uganda. It is also one of the few places in the country where it is considered safe to swim as it is bilharzias free. from there you will hike a small hill near lake bunyonyi, then after lunch you will drive to Volcano National park for Dinner and overnight will be at one of the many lodges near the lake.

Day 4: Transfer from Bwindi to Rwenzori

After Early morning breakfast, you will leave Bunyonyi lake area and drive to Rwenzori mountain via kasese while enjoying the journey viewing the landscape of uganda’s hills and and you will have lunch en route at fort portal, later you will reach at the hotel and spend overnight stay, with dinner.

Day 5: Ruboni Hill Walk

In the morning with breakfast, depart early in the morning to hike up Ruboni Hill. Enjoy scenic views of the River Mubuku as well as Baker and Portal Peaks as you ascend. Reaching the top of the 2300-meter hill, you will be rewarded with a panoramic view of the Mountains of the Moon and the glorious snow-capped Margherita Peak. Return to your accommodation for dinner and relaxation.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Tracking and Natural Swamp walk

Early in the morning, we head to Kanyanchu Visitor center (Kibale park offices) for Briefing and group allocation. There, you will be attached to a group headed by a ranger guide. The guide will lead you into the forest tracking the sought-after Chimpanzees, our closes relatives with over 99% DNA similar to ours. The length of the trek through the forest depends on the location of the Primates in the forest since they keep on moving from one location to another looking for food. Upon finding the chimps, you will spend a maximum of 1 hour with the chimps and then head out of the forest. In the presence of the Chimps, you can take pictures (no flash) for your memories to when you return home. In the evening, we head to Bigodi Swamp for other primate tracking and bird watching.

Day 7: Rhino Tracking at Ziwa Sanctually and Evening game drive

Early in the morning after breakfast, we head north to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking (the first member of the Big Five family). Ziwa Rhino sanctuary is the only place in Uganda where you can track these endangered species in their natural habitat. After the experience, we continue to Murchison falls national park and on arrival we head for an evening game drive searching Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Leopard, Orbi.

Day 8: Game drive and Boat cruise in Murchison falls Park

You will set off at 6:30 am cross to the northern bank of river Nile head for a sunrise game drive in the Nyamsika plateau to see the Cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, Uganda kob, hartebeest and waterbucks. You may also spot oribi, bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, shy
sitatunga, bush duiker, warthog and bush pig plus large carnivores including lions, leopards and spotted hyenas.

Chimpanzees and olive baboons head the list of six species of primates found in the park. Crocodiles and hippos will be seen along the banks of the Nile. Some of the more common birds that can be seen include goliath heron, Egyptian geese, pelican, bee- eaters, kingfishers, hornbill, cormorant, saddle-bill stork and the rare shoebill stork.

You will return to your lodge for a late breakfast and some relaxation before setting off in the afternoon for a Boat cruise on the placid Victoria Nile, upstream, to the base of the falls. En route you will see hippos, crocodiles, water buck and a wide variety of birds including the
unusual shoebill stork. The boat stops just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron” for
pictures to be taken of the photogenic.

Day 9: Game drive and Boat cruise in Murchison falls National Park

You will set off at 6:30 am cross to the northern bank of river Nile head for a sunrise game

Day 10: Early Morning Game Drive and later travel back to Kampala

After your early morning breakfast at about 6:00am, our driver picks you up and along with a game ranger ready for a game drive by 7:00am. Early morning is a great time to catch the early risers, nocturnal and the hunters before returning to their hideouts.

The Nile River bisects the park into the northern and southern sections. The northern side has a higher concentration of game than the southern side. If your accommodation is on the southern side you will drive to the ferry crossing to get to the northern side. You explore the major game trails especially around Paraa and expect great and beautiful wildlife spotting including giraffes, lions, elephants, spotted hyenas, warthogs, Uganda kobs, Jackson’s Hartebeests, waterbucks, leopards and among others.

At about 11:00am you return to the hotel and check out, then drive to Masindi town for lunch at Masindi Hotel/Court View Hotel or the Kabalega dinners on the Kampala-Gulu high way.

Drive back to Kampala/Entebbe Airport for a dropoff.

Day 11: Transfer to Jinja via Kampala

In the morning after breakfast, your guide shall point out the historical implication this place has on Uganda. We could make a stopover to pick some fruits like the pineapples, jackfruits, passion fruits to mention but a few, then continue with our journey through Masindi town and and continue to jinja for overnight and dinner.

Day 12: Travel to Jinja for Water Rafting and drop off.

This tour will be commenced with a thrilling adventure on the Nile river. Your driver will pick you early in the morning from your Hotel and then drive you heading East to Jinja town. This is an adventure Capital of Uganda. Here specifically for our journey we will head to the Nile for White Water Rafting Experience. We go for a half day rafting. Depending on your experience you will be briefed and instructed accordingly by the experts, then finally enter the rafting boat and the thrilling adventure begins. Upon finishing the adventure, your drive-guide will then drive you to kampala for drop off.
