5 Days in Rwanda Chimpanzees
five days of touring in Rwanda, including Nyungwe National Park and Volcanoes National Pak, for different activities, hiking, trekking, and water bodies activity at kivu lake.
Itinerary;
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Via Nyanza and Huye
This Morning after breakfast, at 7 Am you will drive to Southern part of the country, Via Nyanza for Visiting King palace Museum to learn more about kings history, and kingdom of Rwanda, then from there you will continue to Huye for visiting Ethnographic museum to learn more about ancient history and cultural of the country, you will have lunch over there, then drive to to Nyungwe which will take around 2 hrs, for overnight and dinner near the forest.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Canopy Walk way
In the morning with early breakfast, to the park headquarters to be briefed about the “dos and don’ts” while with the chimps before entering the forest. You will encounter the chimps and many other primates like the black and white monkeys and various bird species, then from there you will back to the hotel for lunch, then after lunch drive to Uwinka overlook where you shall do a Canopy Walkway for 40 minutes in the forest, a thrilling adventure awaits you on the Nyungwe Canopy Walk as a short hiking in Igishigishi trail. Then back to the lodge for overnight and dinner at the lodge.
Day 3: Waterfall and drive to Kibuye
in the morning with Breakfast, at 8 am with your packed snacks, starting point at Gisakura reception center, this day you will have a half day forest guided walk with in Nyungwe Forest National Park, on this long walk, you will visit the Kamiranzovu waterfalls where you will enjoy your picnic lunch. On this walk expect to see a lot of bird species and also primates like monkeys among others, then back to the lodge for lunch and then drive to karongi for overnight and dinner at one of the resort closer to the lake kivu.
Day 4: Boat Ride and Transfer to Musanze (volcanoes NP)
In the morning after having your breakfast we shall have a full boat ride on Lake Kivu one of the biggest lake in Rwanda where we shall visit different historical Islands such as the bat Islands, Monkey Island and Peace/Amahoro Island. From there we shall go for lunch, enjoy swimming on the shores of the lake and from there we shall drive to Musanze in Volcanoes National park where you will spend your night and dinner at the lodge in Volcanoes Side.
Day 5: Golden monkeys trekking and Ibyiwacyu cultural village and Drop off.
This following morning we shall prepare for Golden Monkey trekking. Fully habituated now, enjoy a rare treat watching these unique primates play and perform in the forest. Picnic Lunch.
After Lunch to Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village in Musanze District based in the community bordering Volcanoes National Park. At the village, you will have a wonderful, interactive experience, learning all about Rwandan traditions, cultural songs, and dances. You will be given a chance to participate in local dances and drum, all while wearing traditional local “Umushanana” dress; shooting arrows, attending a traditional healer’s medicine show You will also have the opportunity to sample local food and banana beer and visit a local household or school. From there we shall drive back to Kigali for drop off.
